Elder is
off to a fast start in Cincinnati baseball and it's not because the
Panthers are playing a cupcake schedule. Just the opposite.
The Panthers, Ohio Division I defending state champions,
are off to a 8-0 start and are doing it in an impressive manner.
Five of their five wins have come against top-10 ranked teams, including
No. 2 Moeller, No. 3 St. Xavier, No. 6 Glen Este, No. 7 La Salle and No.
10 Oak Hills.
Elder is getting it done with a potent offense that
is averaging 9.1 runs a game and a pitching staff that has allowed only
13 runs (1.62 avg.). The Panthers closest game to date was a 4-1 win
over Moeller.
